Insurance Information
Plan to have a fasting blood glucose test done at Hagerstown Medical Laboratory after you have met with the nurse educator and had your blood glucose meter checked on the first morning. If you have not had an HbA1c test done within two months, one will be drawn also. If your insurance requires you to have blood sent to a special lab, you will need to plan to pay for the fasting blood glucose test that is required the morning that we start insulin. The HbA1c can be done at your insurance lab and the results sent to the Diabetes Center.
