Recently, they were awarded the honor of best home medical equipment provider at the Home Medical Equipment (HME) Excellence Awards. Sponsored by the American Association of Home Care, this award honors companies who demonstrate excellent quality control, staff development, financial performance, and community involvement.

Equipped For Life took the top spot out of more than 100 nominations and more than 700 members in the American Association of Home Care. “We have always been more innovative than any other provider in the industry that I know of,” Ellis said. “What we do to keep it going is expansion—taking our process and spreading it out so we can affect more people in the region.”

Ellis said the award doesn’t highlight one component, but instead looks at the company as a whole. “It takes all of us working cohesively to pull off such a distinction. The staff gets all the credit. We have 35 individuals that have a purpose and know their work is worthwhile and makes a difference,” he said.
