  New Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist Joins BHS

Beth Tumarkin, M.D. recently joined Behavioral Health Services as a psychiatrist specializing in child and adolescent psychiatry. She evaluates and treats children as young as age two up to age 18. Some of the common issues addressed are Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), anxiety, depression and oppositional defiant. Outpatient services are provided at the H.W. Murphy Community Health Center located at 24 North Walnut Street in Hagerstown.

 

Dr. Tumarkin received her Bachelor of Science degree in pharmacology from the University of Florida in Gainesville, and graduated from the University of South Florida College of Medicine in Tampa in 1998. She recently completed her five-year residency program at the University of South Florida. Dr. Tumarkin was chief resident during the last year of her child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship. 

 

Originally from Charleston, WV, Dr. Tumarkin is licensed in both Maryland and Florida. She is also a member of the American Psychiatric Association and the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
