The mission of the stroke team at Washington County Hospital is to decrease death and disability due to stroke by promoting awareness in the community to area residents, corporations, group facilities, and health care providers, providing patients with the highest quality, comprehensive, up to date treatment and delivery of stroke care by a collaborative team trained to provide specialized stroke care to patients

The Signs of a Stroke are:

  • A sudden numbing or weakness of the face, arm or leg, especially on one side of the body
  • Sudden confusion, trouble speaking or understanding
  • Sudden trouble seeing in one or both eyes
  • Sudden trouble walking, dizziness, loss of balance or coordination
  • Sudden, severe headache with no known cause

What to do
Call 911 immediatly. There is no time to lose in the event of a stroke.
