  Pelvic Pain

Pelvic pain is often the result of hypertonicity in pelvic floor muscles. Hypertonicity is a condition in which there is increased muscle tone in the pelvic floor muscles. This means the muscles are in a continued state of contraction, which can lead to impairment in the ability to relax or contract the pelvic floor muscles.

Treatment options for pelvic pain may include the following:

  • Relaxation techniques
  • Exercise
  • Scar tissue massage
  • Modalities (TENS or ultrasound)
  • Biofeedback to assist with relaxation or contraction of pelvic floor muscles
