  Robinwood Health Fair 2008

Bigger and Better than Ever!

The 2007 Robinwood Health Fair

The second annual Robinwood Health Fair (held last June) was a great success, providing health screenings and information for about 1,000 community members. The health fair featured events and education for people of all ages, from the kids’ “Glitterbug” handwashing station to a brake response test and sun damage analysis.

Visitors were also able to discuss their screening results with a physician. “This was a valuable service to local residents, some of whom had not seen a physician for some time,” said Richard Ardery, director of marketing at Washington County Hospital. “The fair was also an opportunity for folks who live in the region to meet our clinical superstars—over 100 of our doctors, nurses, respiratory therapists, physical therapists, speech therapists, physician assistants, and many other members of our staff volunteered their time.”

The 2008 Robinwood Health Fair promises to be even bigger and better. Plan to join us on Saturday, June 14, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm for a day of healthy fun and education!

You’ll learn about a number of health issues—but more importantly, you’ll learn about your own specific health issues and risk factors. Participate in a variety of FREE health screenings, from body mass index to cardiac assessment, to vision and hearing. We’ll have more than thirty health screenings in all, including several special screenings by appointment: hip and knee pain, hand and arm pain, and breast cancer. Several physicians will be on hand again this year to review the results with you.

Hagerstown’s most popular personality, Lou Scally, will be hosting a live radio broadcast during the event, so don’t forget to stop by and say hello between 10:00 am and noon.

And parents, you won’t want to miss the child fingerprinting station, height-weight check, pediatric asthma screening, car seat safety check, Glitterbug handwashing, and our other kid-friendly activities. We’ll even have the Colossal Colon, a forty-foot educational model of the human colon that kids of any age can crawl through to see examples of healthy tissue and diseases that affect the colon.
