Endocrine Diabetes Consultations:
An interdisciplinary assessment conducted by the endocrinologist, dietitian and nurse diabetes educator is designed to provide a thorough evaluation with recommendations and follow-up for the treatment and management of the person with diabetes.
Diabetes Self-Management Program:
Recognized by the American Diabetes Association as a program of excellence in meeting the national standards of diabetes education, group and individual education is provided by the nationally certified diabetes educators. The program includes an individualized assessment with the certified diabetes educator, the core curriculum for diabetes education, and ongoing follow-up as needed for the self-management of diabetes.
Medical Nutrition Therapy and Nutritional Counseling
The dietitian certified diabetes educator provides group and individual medical nutrition therapy for the person with diabetes. In addition a full range of nutritional services is offered. Specific areas include: weight control, cholesterol control, triglycerides control, and basic nutrition for wellness, vegetarians and athletes.
Gestational Diabetes Program:
In many situations, gestational diabetes may be managed through careful meal planning. When diet control is not enough, then careful insulin management can be accomplished with routine self-monitoring of blood and insulin adjustments.
