Washington County Health System

  Serving Our Community

Washington County Health System’s pledge—Responsiveness to need. Excellence in care. Respect for all.—is both a promise and a guiding principle for each of the physicians, nurses, and other staff members who work here.

As a community hospital, Washington County Hospital is dedicated to responding to the healthcare needs of our local residents with high-quality, compassionate care. After all, our life together is made more vibrant by the well-being of every member of our community.

We believe that…

It is our responsibility and our calling to care for all who need help, regardless of their ability to pay.
Our financial assistance program serves patients who are unable to pay all or part of their medical bills. Patients who need assistance are routinely referred to this program, and the application is also easily accessible online in both English and Spanish.

As a nonprofit organization, it is our duty to give back to our community.
In 2008, Washington County Hospital returned more than $23 million to the community in programs and services at low cost or no cost. Taken together, that is almost $30 million returned to our region to support the well-being of those who live here. Health system employees are also major supporters of the United Way, in addition to independently supporting such charities as the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and the Medication Assistance Center.

The people of our community deserve access to advanced medical equipment and therapies.
Our joint replacement program has been used as a model on a national level, and the John R. Marsh Cancer Center’s treatment programs rival those at large teaching hospitals. In addition, the health system has long been committed to obtaining cutting-edge imaging equipment so that our patients have access to the best medical solutions available.

We are stewards of our community’s health, and it is our responsibility to provide leadership in support of current and future healthcare needs.
Through initiatives like the annual Robinwood Health Fair, Health Focus, the Speaker’s Bureau, and Health Matters radio show, we strive to bring important health issues and information to local residents. Our staff provide more intensive leadership to tomorrow’s healthcare providers through internships in such disciplines as respiratory therapy, phlebotomy, and even medical billing.
