  Patient Advocate

Navigating through the health care system can be a very complex process. At Washington County Hospital, our doctors, nurses and clinical staff are dedicated to providing the finest quality medical care to the people in our region. While we know that being hospitalized is not always a pleasurable experience, our Patient Advocate Program can help make your experience a positive one.

As part of the Patient/Customer Service Department, patient advocates offer many services. We will assist in providing direction to the appropriate resources for coordinating your care. We can help find answers to any questions or concerns you may have. We also are called on to intervene in crisis situations and help negotiate resolutions when needed. Patient advocates are also trained to help you with advance care planning and the completion of Advance Directives.

You can think of a patient advocate as your healthcare partner—offering reassurance, information, support and compassion, so that your healthcare needs are met to your satisfaction. For more information about the Patient Advocate Program, please call
301-790-8262, or call 301-790-8662 for the ER Patient Advocate.
